First published 2018 When newly qualified doctor Léon Dufour arrived at Fécamp in 1881 he was 25, idealistic and infinitely kind. He would be one of just five doctors in a town of 13,000 people. Fécamp was a busy port that had earned itself the curious soubriquet of ‘the town of women’.
